This movie was made in response to the request of professional organization and agricultural formation institutes, and help agricultural stakeholder in application of new governmental measures to support agroforestry projects.
The movie is constructed in two part :
Part 1: “Itinerary of a sustainable farm” – 4m23
This part outline the way of a fictive agroforestry farm, from 1990 to 2040.
Its aim is to expose in a concise manner the principals agroforestry challenges face of the social and economic context predictable in the next 50 years. Biodiversity, soils erosion, biomass, carbon sequestration and global warming topics are explored in a context of petrol rarefaction and rising world population.
Part 2 : Documentary – 10 m55
This second part comes back on the topics discussed before and questions agroforestry practices as one of components of actual agroecological practices (Organic farming, Conservation agriculture, Simplified Cultural Techniques,…). It draws up a quick overview of knowledge and sets out the challenges and perspectives for following years.
The interest of this movie lies on his short size and his two parts realization, making it an accessible and instructive tool, but also a discussion tool. Indeed, all is exposed in this documentary: Agro environmental challenges, questions underlying these new agroecological practices, and answers available provided by researchers and farmers.
